  • Hi Mark, the boats called Dorado, and its parked in Westhaven at the moment. I'm moving it to Whitianga in August though.

I might end up getting a marine engineer to do the rudder bearings, depending on if I have the time. Once the job is done I'll post how I did it.

  • Hi Alex. I have to have my Raven 31 inspection before November, so hope mine will be ok. I expect they will be a standard NZ bearing size, so if you can get them out undamaged they should be able to be matched up.

Had our Raven for 10 years, and do wish the was a document with complete specs on all parts.
Ours is Skylark and we keep it a Gulf Harbour, Auckland

We would appreciate you posting here what you did to get it sorted.

Whats your boat name and where do you keep it?

    Kind Regards Mark

  • Hi everyone, I just bought a Raven 31 and there's lots of play in the rudder and I think the bearings need replacing. Does anyone know where I can get the parts from?
    Cheers

  • Just bought this old lady, she's a mark 2 so circa late 1980's I believe. The makr 1 had a ply deck/cabin whereas the mark 2 has a fibreglass deck/cabin. I'm searching for any informtion on these boats other than the little I can find online. I was hoping there may be an 'owners manual' like with a car but I'm now starting to think that other than the hull and deck, everything else is custom to the individual boat. We plan to restore this boat, the bones of her are pretty good but hasn't been maintained to a high level. We're new to sailing too so this will be interesting!
